    UPDATE:
The home CV7005 SF I sent back made it to Analogman today...

So around 2 hours after checking the delivery status I get a message from Analogman with a tracking number for the lower gain SF.

I should have it by Tuesday at the latest... thats what I call service!!!!!!

After doing business with Mike for over a decade, I'm still blown away with the level of service him and his team provide!!!

Gonna have some awesome clips after I get it back!!! :dude

Yep, just like you said, the transistors tops are glued to the foam pad... I guess the pedal is operational, but VERY fragile. John Lyons is still going to restore it, so I'll keep you posted...

Ok cool. It also wouldn't surprise me if either of the pots needed to be changed out as well. I wouldn't change out any of the other components unless I had to. If anything, a lot of these old SF's just need some re-soldering.

I came home from work today to a lower gain CV7005 Sunface :dude

I warmed my amp up after letting the pedal get to room temperature and it sounds EXACTLY like a normal gain NKT275 white dot!!!

Singing leads and cleans up SUPER awesome!!!

It was marked "low gain" on the backplate but it sounds like a normal gain White Dot NKT275!!

I will post a iPad clip later on after family time has ended and I get to hang in my man cave.

I will get a quality demo by next Tuesday for sure!!!

    I will repot back SOON!!!!!!!!!

    Edit: new transistor ratings were...
    High:i
    Low:b

Fairly low gain but more like the "higher end of the lower gain"

Did you order any extras on your NKT-sound-alike Sunface CV7005? Sundial, LED, AC? I observe with interest that several Reverb sellers are now offering new GE or SI Sunfaces with both LED and AC, in addition to sundial. I thought Analog Mike's philosophy was to avoid LED and AC if at all possibe... (Mike, are you listing? Do chime in!)

Well, here it is for now.
Sound quality is ok, that's all that matters.
YouTube wouldn't upload my video in HD so it's in SD.

I'm gonna have a great quality demo uploaded by the end of the week.

Amp is a handwired "Deluxe" with MM Fat Stacks (I use 6L6 not 6v6 , Sozo Blue Mold (bass and mid tone stack, P.I.), Sprague atoms (bypass, bias, filter), mid knob added to Vibrato channel, M0D reverb tank, V30, evidence audio siren combo cable, KCANOS tubes (Mullard AT7, JAN-GE 12AX7WA/GZ34, GE 6L6GC).

CS strat has all Lindy Fralin "1963 custom neck pups" (all around 6.8).

    Pedal chain:
    Ultravibe2>A.M. CV7005 SF>A.M. Rev3 Comp>SUF CWM L.E.>A.M. Maxon OD9 Silver (Med gain)>A.M. Maxon OD9 Silver (low gain)w/BadBob built in>A.M. modded AF1 (T.B. switch)>A.M. Mini Chorus>A.M. ARDX20>AMP

    All cables are LAVA ELC.

    CV7005 settings:
    V-unity
    F-max
Sundial: ~2 until 6:45 then I turn it to 10.

    Amp:
With the 6L6s in it I get ~32watts. OT is a 6.6k primary.
    Volume-3
    Bass-3
    Treble-5
    Middle-5.5

    Video notes:
    .25-2:38 CV ONLY

    2:38-4:12 UltraVibe2/CV

    4:11-4:14 CV

    4:15-4:46 CV/OD9(low)

    4:47-5:02 UV2/CV/OD9(low)

    5:03-5:25 UV2/CV/OD9(low)/BadBob boost

    5:26-5:32 ???

    5:33-5:46 UV2/CV/AF1

    5:48-6:09 CV/AF1

    6:11-6:14 CV

    6:15-6:21 CV/AF1

    6:22-7:20 CV/AF1/ARDX20 *@6:45 I turn the sundial to ~10

    7:21-7:24 UV2/CV/AF1/ARDX20

7:25-End. I turn off effects one at a time until it's just the CV.

Sounds really good! How are you stacking the pedals? was there a point where you did not stack it with other ods? How loud is the amp?

    Batteries, cheap non alkaline.

I only ordered top jacks, sundial and the CV7005s.

While there are other FF companies, the SF is king IMO.

Mike said he gave me the lowest gain CVs possible.

All I know is that it sound TOTALLY awesome!!!
ALL of the NKT white dot goodness without the extra taxing from being "rare".

If ANYONE is considering the purchase, just do it... It's SO worth it!!!

Jdawgy - You are a GAS inducer! :) Seriously though, thanks for the great review. I just got a monsterpiece from a fellow TGP'er that I'm totally digging but I am now dangerously close to pulling the trigger on the SF CV7005. Just gotta move a few more things through the emporium first...

    Thanks man!!!

You can always flip the CV in the emporium if you don't
    like it.

And remember that all 3 pups in my strat are Lindy Fralin '63 NECK pups that are high output single coils (all ~6.7-6.8)...
So, depending on your setup, I'd talk to Mike about what gain range would fit your rig best.

    You won't be sorry !!!
