1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I had a few conversations with Michael @ MI Audio, what a pleasant person to talk too! after going back and forth on the blues pro, and the blue boy deluxe, simplicity reared it's head and I went with the pro. clips as we all know can mislead, but I really like the fact that the pro seems to cover smooth and growly as well as maintaining bottom end with a minimal mid hump! gee! hope I like it!!:BluesBros

Odds are you will. Last night i swapped the IC for a Burrr Brown. I really liked the result. Took all of 10 seconds.:AOK

While you're at it order the LM1458 opamp from small bear. ( thanks again Walplow) You'll be very happy with the tone change in both modes: standard and fuzz switch on.
It's like .50 + shipping so it's a no brainer. Less mid hump aand more transparent to the point it can be a clean boost. Can still growl plenty too. Just more natural breakup.:AOK

thanks for that info! i'm just after all 35 years of playing music starting to realize how small fixes so to speak can make big changes for the better. case in point just had joel @ HBE do a fat boost mod and a BURR BROWN I.C. for my power screamer, it took a good pedal and made it that much better!:AOK

I have a Blues Pro purchased about three months ago, and I really think it's an excellent pedal.

You really should check out a Blue Boy as well - KILLER overdrive. I know the number of controls can seem a bit daunting, but once you've got it dialed in the rewards are huge.

It can be used two ways: switch on and gain maxxed, tone at noon or below it sounds like backwards Fuzz guitar with some octavia added. Super saggy. With the gain down, it cuts some of the compression out,
so it sounds less like a TS style od and more like a Timmy style od.

Coming from long years w/a tele & an old blackface that doesn't even have a mid control, 3 knobs on a pedal's plenty for me. Best 89 bucks I ever spent!

The new ones cost a bit more, but they're still so cheap you might have enough change left over to buy yourself some teeth:dude

If you're looking down at it on your board: Toggle left norm, toggle right Fuzz.

what a pleasing box the pro is. for my needs it is THE perfect overdrive! the voicing, compression, sustain is just great. smooth or thick and nasty, this baby is a winner! first pedal in a long time that lived up to my hopes!

IMHO that is the best TS clone out there, bar none.
