I couldn't believe this little 20w tone machine! I cranked the sucker up to ten and it just rocked with an LP or Strat. Through a vintage cab with greenbacks, what a combination. Pure tube tone heaven. I'm thinking about picking one of these suckers up. Anyone else got one?

Had one for a while before I traded it towards a 1959HW - the 2061 is great! I'll own another one someday...

Rastaman has one. He'll probably poke his head in here when he hgets a chance. His is awsome sounding. Very AC/DC ish at less than earth crushing volumes.

Yeah the crunch was incredible. But for 20w this sucker was pretty loud. Loved it.

I have one and absolutely love it! It's surprisingly close in tone to a 50 watt plexi Marshall, but beware, due to the fact that it has EL34's running with cathode bias there is some mushyness to the tone, which is tube be expected. Still, a fantastic amp!

Really? I didn't notice this at all. Are cathode biased tubes notorious for this?

The EL84's in the 20 run pretty hot and burn relatively fast (but then again I run mine essentially dimed all the time) The only time mine gets 'mushy' is when the tubes are going, with new ones it's really tight. Reminds me it's time to replace the tubes in mine and fall in love with it again.

Use a variac and they'll last a little longer.

yes, but I don't care for the lowered voltage sound so much

Just crank the volume on full and use the variac to lower the volume a little, unless you gotta have it on full! ROCK!!

It loses a shimmer when the voltage is dropped, the 3-D quality of it goes out the window.
It took me a whle to figure out why I didn't like the sound of it in one of the rehearsal rooms we get stuck in, it was low wall voltage.
I like the way JJ's sound in it and they are pretty cheap and available, this will be the 3rd set (including the stock ones) in about 15 months, not so bad all things considered. I do tend to change them out early.

Good to know. I'm curious to see if Voodooamps might do a mod to add more EQ capabilities.

Awesome amp! Very ACDC, Thin Lizzyish. I love mine and will hopefully never be foolish or forced to get rid of it.
