Awesome, that's all I have to say... Dallas Green has a ridiculously good voice too, even live.
Great vocalist for sure.... Excellent songwriting.
for those of you that don't know...
Yea Dallas is pure genius. He needs more push here on TGP. Seen him live 5 times solo and 3 times with Alexisonfire. The video below is from a show I saw him at last year... one of the best Ive ever been to.
I just saw his show in Perth at the Belvior Amphitheatre on Saturday night & Dallas along with his band City & Colour were fantastic. I agree wholeheartedly with the comments above about his live vocals. They were supreme along with his guitar playing. I would go so far as to say he sounded even better live than on any of his records which I feel is the mark of a great artist.
In fact the whole band sounded great. I really loved the tone coming from his guitarist Dante Schwebel's rig too. He was playing a tele for most of the night into what looked like two Fender Deluxe Reverbs. Overall one of the best shows I've been to in a long time.
What a voice.
very rare these days.
I sold him a Vox AC30 with alnico blue speakers back in '05 when he was touring with Alexisonfire, just before his first City and Colour album came out. He was totally unassuming and pretty humble. No big rock star ego, he just came into the store and started checking out amps. Tried a few different Vox's and settled on the alnico blue's.
I saw him a couple of weeks ago in Indianapolis, he was phenomenal!
obviously tons of Jeff Buckley influence, but he sounds GREAT
side tracked thought: The riff/sound of the guitar sounds a lot like a slowed down "landslide" to me. anyone else?
