Read about him, and knew he had own pickups with Suhr Guitars. Unreal speed and accuracy and fantastic tone and phrasing. Quite unbelievable.

I met Doug a few years ago when Whitesnake played at The Webster in Hartford. Total class act & down to earth. His chops & tone are off the charts.

Dough is the very definition of a monster player. Pick up some of the Witesnake records with him on them an you'll see (I mean hear) that Doug in in the upper echelon of rock guitar players. He can run with the best of them.

Check out his new project with Deen Castronovo and Jack Blades called Revolution Saints. Some of his tastiest playing. There's always fire in his licks. One of my all time favorite guitarists.

This track is not really my thing but I like his characteristic hot-rodded Marshall rhythm sound and the solo at 02:34 is shred-tastic.

Seems to have a strong Journey/Hardline vibe.

I've seen Doug Aldrich with Dio and Whitesnake. Great guitarist with chops and tone that's top notch. His live tone is totally sick!! Modded Marshall tone running wet/dry/wet to 3 stacks onstage.

The guy is really underrated and seems very down to earth for the massive talent.

A couple of quick stories about Doug. I went to see Whitesnake and Judas Priest a few years ago. I was with my drummer, who loves to get autographs. He held up a WS DVD and a sharpie to Doug several times during the show. Doug smiled a few times but that was it. At the end of the show, he emerged from the backstage area, grabbed my drummer and his wife and took them backstage for pictures, autographs and to meet the other guys in the band, including David.

Last year I was eating at a steakhouse in Vegas and Doug walked in. I was sitting at a table as he walked by and just stuck out my hand and said, "Hey Doug, you're one of my favorite guitarists. Love the way you play." He smiled, shook my hand and said, "wow, thank you very much!" Very polite dude.

I think he seems down to earth because he really is.

I've been aware of Doug since he played on Hurricane's 'Slave To The Thrill' album. They're one of my favorite bands from that era. If you're a fan of him, it's worth checking out.

The album's producer is/was Hardline's keyboard player, Alessandro del Vecchio (he's in the "Here Forever" video). Pretty sure he wrote a lot of the material.
