WOW....I had a couple of pairs of teh S3As and they were VERY midrangey to my ears. The 2.5s are REALLY nice. I had Dynaudio 15As which were fantastic but a used pair of Adams (mint) at roughly the same price was a huge step up.

I have to say now I know why so many people use these.

You had a "couple of pairs" of S3As??? That would be quite a collection of incredible monitors.

I love Adams (especially the S series, which I use) but I think of the S3As as an upgrade compared to the 2.5s. Either way, I don't think of either as mid-forward monitors. Very flat in that range actually. Are you placing these monitors differently in your room?

Adams are very nice . All of my friends use the S3 monitors , but they are not my cup of tea . I use the S2 monitors in a 5.1 setup with the
Crane Song 5.1 Avocet system .and a 10 inch Adams Sub .

I need the separation and the Sub in order to mix right .
I use Roland DS monitors as my middle of the road 5.1 set, to
    get my perspective .

Without the sub or dialing in some separation , they would sound
mid rangy , thats why I don't use them for mixing

I meant to say I get in (I'm a net dealer) cool stuff and always try it to see if I want it. Trust me...I'm a hack. I just had FOCAL SM8 monitors which are extremely cool. I'm selling them though because I really like the Adams and they are much less money. Focals are crazy nice though.

    I'm using them for mixing.
