I've just ordered all the parts for my new "tele" - if you can call something with a trem and humbuckers that. ;)

Anyway - here's the sketch - It IS speciel, but I think it looks awesome. The blade switch will be a 4 way, so I can switch between either strat singlecoil and parallel and series, and the toggle switch will switch between the output from the 4 way and the humbucker.

I'll keep the thread updated as the parts get assembled.

Well, I just finished my exams, and I finally got to work on it. Been busy all night in the wood shop. :)

Photoshopped pictures - not so green in real life, but still a vibrant surf green:

I've doweled the old neck mounting holes, so no I'm waiting for them to dry till tomorrow morning, then I'll mount the neck, mount the hardware, and begin soldering.

Actually, the neck and middle pickups, and the trem are strat, the toggle switch and the bridge humbucker are LP, and the shape of the body and the control plate is tele. A StraTeleLP ?

    It came painted from Rockinger.com.

Oh, I did'nt make myself clear - the neck fits the pocket snugly, it's the neck mounting holes in the neck that I've doweled, since they were assymmetrical.

I think he's talking about the gap in the corners due to it being a Strat neck on a Tele body. I've done that before, It's not a huge deal.

Oh, while we're on custom Tele builds, I just scored this on eBay ten minutes ago. Not bad for $55, eh?

    Very nice!

Regarding the strat neck, I just shaved off the curve on the neck, so it fits exactly, and placed the vibratobridge a little further back, accordingly.

Everything works fine, it plays like butter, and has a great resonance. I'm a very happy camper. :)

    Nice job!

Don't you have a problem staying in tune with only two springs on the vibrato?
