Sold JW Van Maker's Mark Tele - $699

Up for sale or trade is a unique tele-style build from boutique luthier Travis Walker at JW Van Guitars (see thread about his guitars here). The top is fashioned from an actual oak Maker's Mark whiskey barrel. Only a handful of these guitars were made. This is a muscle car of a telecaster, with thick meaty tone. I'm drifting back to humbuckers and I hardly ever play this anymore.

  • Body: oak and ash
  • Neck: quartersawn flamed maple, ebony fretboard.
  • Lollar pickups
  • Nut Width: 1 11/16"
  • Fretboard Radius: 12"
  • Dunlop Straplocks
  • Neck size: fairly chunky, I don't have exact specs. It's big but comfortable.
  • Includes Road Runner hard case.

Fret level and crown in late 2016, so the playability is super smooth, and the frets still have tons of life. I don't know the exact wire, but they're fairly big - I'd guess medium jumbo-ish (6150 or similar).

$699 shipped/PPG - you won't find a nicer, more badass tele for the money.

As for trades, something with humbuckers, maybe a headless or travel guitar. I'd be interested in other JW Van tele- or LP-style builds with HBs. Trade value around $850. Add or subtract a little cash, pending values.

I ship UPS insured to Continental United States.
