I have a tranyor tube amp. and I'm looking for the John Mayer, SRV clean crackle tone. Which one of these would ya'll suggest. Keeley Katana or Java Boost. Anyone that has one how do you like them. I have the Keeley BD2 and Compressor and Love them. Thanks for any Help:AOK

I'm a clean boost junkie and have tried a few different ones......

    Super Chile Picosso
    Barber LP
    RC Booster
    Burriss Boostier
    T.C. Jauernig Luxury Drive
    Sparkle Drive
    Banzai Cold Fusion

All have been good, but the Katana had that special something that put it above the rest. After realizing what a mistake I made selling mine:eek: , I just recently bought another. This time it's going no where:)

Considering Mayer uses the Keeley Katana boost (along with a vintage ts808 and Keeley BD2) I'd go with that one.

I've also owned, sold, and reacquired a Katana. This is a really good pedal.

the Katana is a super little clean boost. the Java is an interesting pedal. i have one and use it differently to a treble boost.

i have a overdrive and the treble boost on at the same time and with some settings i can pull the exact same fuzz sound as my fuzz factory. bizzare huh?

The Katana is especially nice behind the Keeley Comp...they work exceptionally well together. :dude

Another good boost pedal to consider is the Durham Sex drive pedal, good clean boost with slight compression.

I used to own the Java and this is definately not a clean boost. It adds quite some dirt. From the options you've mentioned I'ld go with the Katana
