I'm going to need to ditch one of these to justify some other purchases. Looking for thoughts on it from people who have played both. Which one do you think you would miss the most . I'm torn!

I'd keep the Klone.
1) Depending on who made the Klone, you'll get more moolah selling a TS808.
2) You can use the Klone as a drive (gain up) at the front of your chain or as a clean boost (gain off) at the end of your dirts. It does 2 things pretty well.

A lot depends upon how you use it.

If used more as a boost/tone shaper, then I would think you'd want to keep the Klon(e) because unlike the TS, it has the ability to boost/tone shape without any midrange tonal coloration whatsoever. If used more as an overdrive with the distortion up....which pedals distortion/od characteristics & feel do you prefer more?

I mainly use my Klon set as an always on boost/tone shaper/tone enhancer, so that would be most missed by me.

I did love my Klone when I first tried it. After gigging with it I'm not sure about the "low mid hump" going on. Is this what the original Centaur does too?

I actually use them both for the same application..so they are really competing for one spot on my board. I use it for a boost..always into a semi dirty Marshall style amp . I use it kinda like SRV style , for extra boost and cut. The 808 does the cutting thing very well...but I find the Klone really cuts in a love mix just as well..and it's midrange it's just a tad thicker. Ahhh dammit..I know this Klone thing is getting talked to death. Maybe I should sell my blood! Lol!

Yes. When the Gain is set at 9:00 or above the Klon adds a midrange hump & cuts bass as well. Tonally it's very similar to a good Tubescreamer IMO.

Personally I'd have to keep the Klone for the versatility. I love a TS, but to me its an OD all through its range where as the Klone gets so clean its almost like having two pedals. Also, the klone plays a main role for me and the TS is a stacker.

I sometimes wonder if SRV would have switched to a Klon if he was around?? :)
