    Use both to cut and deliver food to oral cavity
    Or cut and set knife down, place hand in lap and raise food to mouth level.
    Chopsticks are not part of this discussion.

    Depends entirely on one's level of hoity toityness, I suppose. Option A for us mongrels.

    In college days both would be considered superfluous at fraternities having "Viking Night". Grab and gnaw, that is all that is required. The response to "Pass the butter" was always heartfelt.
