Some of you folks know I have a thing about building exotic wood cabinets.
For some time I have been thinking about building a cabinet for a Komet 60.
This cabinet has been done for a couple of weeks and I was ready to post a picture when the new KF 50 was released. So I decided to wait a bit before showing mine.
The cabinet is Bubinga with flame maple. There are laminated pieces of Cocobola between the Bubinga and the Maple. This was to represent the piping on the normal cabinet.
One thing I did differently was to have recessed handles on the side. I borrowed this idea from my Wizard cabinet.

The pictures have been severely reduced, but the completed cabinet is nothing short of stunning..
I just wanted to share :D

Nice choice of woods. I like the color combo and the way you ran the grain on the Bubinga.

Did you use a Incra jig for the dovetails?

    Yikes! That's absolutely beautiful!

Did you notice any change in tone when you swapped cabs?

Care to mention where you got your wood?

    Enjoy! /jd

Hey Guys, thanks for the complements..

It keeps me off the streets :D

Yes, I have a lot of Incra toys. They are great for very precise work.

Not bad, for a guitar player. If your day gig goes awry, you can always move to Texas and make furniture for me..:D

    Nice work Larry!
