    It's beyond "awesome".
Clean and nasty, love the Fast Mode, Volume around 10/11:00.
Your guitar volume know is VERY usable with this amp.
    It's loud though...
    Cheers,
    Oz

I only had the use of one for a couple of months (5/6 nights a week live) but thats exactly what i felt about the experience of playing the amp. Often when people rave about TONE on TGP what got them going was the PLAYER EXPERIENCE.... all guitar amps have to be tonally somewhere in a range, twiddle the knobs and you can get close to any desired amp tone with good amps.

I have had the same experience with my 65 Strat and JTM45/100+Fuzz Face at one particular setting (loud). And my old JTM45 does feel like that to me when i'm playing well .....

EDIT BTW I never thought the K60 was any louder than a JMP SL50 (also 60 watts) Real RMS watts are watts period. A well voiced amp like the K60 will sing it's notes thru the mix more effectlvely than others. It is +3 Db louder than an AC30 or Bluesbreaker, same as the 50 watt Marshall. 60 Watt amps are noticebly louder than 30/40 watt amps like Fender Bassman, Pro Reverb, Bandmaster. Super etc.

I had one for a while, i/my space was unworthy. Hard to describe how musical and limitless the beast was. The fullest clean tones imaginable.

My new komet 19 demo part 2 is in the gear demo section. That is another way of getting amazing sound with less volume ;-)

Well that's just great! Now I want a K19. Thanks for nothing!

Great sounding clip as usual Simon.

Still looking forward to the great big demo comparing all the models :)

One thing I haven't heard in attenuator demos that I think would be very interesting is having and example of different levels of attenuation but brought back up to the same level. So instead of hearing the track getting quieter, making it difficult to evaluate in terms of tone, all you hear are the tonal effects the attenuator has on the sound. Attenuators all make it quiet, right? What we are interested in is how much it changes the sound while it's doing so.

Sorry, I hope I don't sound like I'm making demands, Simon. Just offering a suggestion that I think would give an interesting demo; for you or anyone else.

You read my mind :) That is what I am thinking in terms of the attenuator demo.
I will make a short track just playing the Komet 60 fully attenuated so you can hear it in a track.
Then the different levels of attenuation (getting quiter down to the level af a 20w amp) , and then brought up to level/unity gain.

Anyone care to share their impressions of a K60 with different output tubes?

I've heard clips with EL34s and 6L6s but how about KT66 or KT88 tubes? It's neat to know that the amp can handle all of these and more with a bias adjustment.

The k19 is a serious piece. Yet another, big, Komet open window thing. And the Constellation ------

    Great stuff as always Simon.

It does sound different even at minimal attenuation and it does seem to lose something (I wonder how much of that is interaction between the speaker and the guitar especially as you're sitting so close, plus of course how much signal the speaker is seeing). But it doesn't sound bad at all and I could see it being very useable.

How does it affect the feel? Blindfolded would you think you were playing direct?

What is the feel switch all about? Is it NFB or something?

You mean the fast/gradual switch? If so, it is a voltage deal that affects the feel of the amps. Fast is a bit more aggressive.
