...Much more to life than a stage or back of a truck, pal.

Are you saying that equipment and playing instruments cannot be enjoyed unless it's in the back of a truck? If so, you are lost.

I have zero interest in being on a stage, and I can assure you that these amps work harder than some stage queens. They are full gallop every single night.

Joern, does your Komet 80 have a name. Mine is "Ana" tuned by Ken. Love it, love it, love it! I'll snap some pics when I have the time. I would be curious to know whether or not Ken tuned your 80 and if so, what tubes did he use?

    cheers,
    vandi

It took the Lance / Austin - Mike / Nashville route.

Interstate 35N out of Austin to 20E to 55N to 40W into Nashville.

Then 24S to I-75 South into Atlanta.

;) - I've also got one of his old 68 plexi heads.

Hey Roky, The K80 is fatter, bigger and with a more vintage feel to it, compared to a K60. Big clean sound with lots of headroom.

Hey Vandi, My Komet 80 is indeed tubed, biased, set up and bench tested in Colonia (10/2005) by Ken Fisher. It`s #008 and named "Deanna". V1= Valvo, V2= ? (logo & letters faded), V3= Amperex, KT88= ? (says only; made in Russia)

Hey Strat, just because you see pictures taken from home, doesn`t mean we don`t gig them. Every year I do 50-70 shows, and my Komet LTDs are always there with me (1 or 2). Here`s some proof

Man, I REALLY wish I could hear a concorde (or a K19) in-person. If anybody in the Mid-West owns one of these, let me know if we can set up a jam sometime! I'll buy the first round for everyone!

Indeed. We play a soccer song here, that the singer has written for our local team (Rosenborg). And we play out of town. Every Norwegian knows this song, but as seen here not everyone is a Rosenborg fan

Since there are so few K80s out there, I'll make the recommendation to the owners to seek out a set of real, healthy, British made KT88s. You will be flabbergasted. Try some Tung Sol (original company) 6550s as well.

Yep, that's what's in mine. I know V1 is a 5751 (can't read the manufacturer) but need to check V2 and V3. I'm pretty sure the logos are all worn off but Ken wrote on the preamp tubes with marker.

Yeah it's a reissue. It sounds divine though! I'm a big fan of the SG, ever since getting a hold of this one.
