Who uses komet amps? most dealers list a client list but not the komet site. i know i've seen richie sambora using them in a few pictures. who else? if you own one, you are allowed to list yourself here. doesnt have to be your main amp either.

A Komet 60 2-12 combo is what I've gigged with exclusively for the last three years or so. Here it is behind me. Gotta love the matching shirt huh?

They made several of the combos....I want to say 4 but maybe Hogy can chime in here and straighten me out on that one.

Knopfler has started using them ... it's been a while, maybe a year or two.

    Mark,
This one has broken in so nicely, I just don't know that I can do without its tone!:)

I used to own one of the earlier 60-watt models.

It was an amazing amp, with touch sensitivity that put most others to shame and rich, complex tone for days. Trouble was, I'm mostly a bedroom player and it is NOT a bedroom amp, so it had to go. I wish I could've made it work, but it was too powerful for my use.

I use a Komet 60. Although it's a loud amp (what tube amp isn't), I don't intend to get rid of it even though I only play at home.

It has the most unbelievable overdriven tone I've ever played, and for that reason alone, I'm not selling it, no matter how impractical it is for my application.

how do you get around to making it more useable for home use. i really don't want to limit myself to only a constellation (which is still probably pretty loud) but i do want something i can deal with in a smaller environment. im open to attenuating, or throwing a load in parallel with a speaker, or even doing a load to line out to other power amp. or just crank it as is.

Sometimes I'll use an OCD in front, sometimes a hotplate, sometimes an Airbrake, sometimes clean, sometimes crunchy,

    and sometimes.....just fully cranked!!!

...fully cranked is the most fun!

The Constellation is just as impractical for home use as the Komet 60. I rarely get to turn them up loud, but when I do, I realize why I keep them, as impractical as they may be for my purposes.

I own Charlie's old 6V6 prototype Komet. I think only 3 or so were made. One may also be a combo. Mine is a red head with white cloth "V". At about 22 watts (I'm guessing) It absolutely sings at reasonable volumes. I think he would sell a $h_t load of them if he offered them. I A/B it using it for the overdrive tones and using a /13 FTR37 or Tone King Meteor for cleans. I still can't thank Charlie enough for selling it. :BEER

I'll try to post some tonight. I don't have any handy here at work. BTW, Hogy said that the NOS "white cloth V's" sound better than the production tolex V's. :crazy

that "supernatural" connie clip has just about sold me. well, that one and the mississippi queen clip. helps that the guy playing is really good at what he does too.
