My name came up on the King of Tone waiting list, and I was wondering how it stacks with fuzzes?
The Catalinbread DLS has always been my foundation OD for staking fuzzes, so can the KOT replaces it?

Don't know how it stacks with fuzzes, but you're going to love it as an OD and booster. Which options are you getting? I got the higher gain red side, standard yellow.

It loves being hit by a treble booster -- I didn't find it loved fuzzes

Can't take fuzzes as well as the dls... No pedal can IMO.... But it does take fuzzes well, mostly the yellow side....

I was thinking about getting the high gain red side too.

It's more money, but I wish I had gotten the outboard mode switches.

I have a KOT and its one of my favorite overdrives, however, I don't think it can replace your DLS. I think adding the KOT to your set-up would be a great choice though.

I like the sound of a fuzz going into the KOT. I think the KOT rounds out the fuzz and gives it a nice boost. Here is a quick and dirty iPhone-recorded clip of ES335 --> Sunbender MkIV --> KOT OD side --> Flashback on Analog Delay setting --> 66 Vibrolux Reverb.

You could also experiment with turning up the internal treble pot in the KOT to try to approximate the crunch of the DLS. While they won't sound exactly the same, I bet you could come fairly close.

I love goosing my Sunface with it. Either side or both sides helps give w little more bite when you need the Ge trannies.

I think that KOT's not that great with a Fuzz Face running into it, try to keep the DLS if you can.

I know Gary Clark Jr, got some pretty nice tones from a AstroTone/KOT combo, so that might
be my combo too, since I already own use one. Mike, do you know if Gary's KOT was stock or modded?

Sounds great, I like it! Thanks for the treble pot tip too.

AstroTone (Sam Ash) Fuzz -> KOT is awesome!! It's the best GCJr tone IMHO and Gary's pedals are stock. I usually turn my KOT off when using a normal Fuzz Face pedal. I use the KOT (yellow) after Peppermint Fuzz and that works fine too. And of course KOT after a Rangemaster/Beano is the ultimate '70s rock tone.

Great! I ordered my KOT this morning :) A Beano is on my next buy list too. I really love the demo from That Pedal Show did on their overdrive shootout.
