Any opinions??...anybody who have one?
They got kicked off and banned from Harmony Central for forging their own product reviews.
If this is true they are real losers.
Oh it's true allright!
The amps are even worse!
Are you serious man...wow that is big news...thanx man!!
i haven't heard the amps BUT, there is a local dealer i frequent that carries them. they have the whole line, heads, combos, cabs, etc. every amplifier they have ever recieved has the transformers mounted on these puny tabs that bend the chassis and let the tranny hang. there are at least 2-3 heads and 2-3 combos in the store right now that are like that and everyone i have seen up to this point has the same problem. now, of course it can be argued that it is a shipping issue but if you saw the tabs yourself you would agree they are cheap and flimsy.
LOL! Harmony Central?!?
That's just rock bottom, man!
They seem to be handing out endorsement deals to anybody that walks up and asks.
They look so cheesy too. I couldn't believe the sticker price on these things!!!
Everyone wants a piece of the rectifier market now, dont they?
Their name says it all, I've never met anyone on Krank I could trust.
Must tell you something when you don't even see them in stores in the same town they are made.
Actually thats not completely true, trusted sources have told me that Tony trades in new Kranks on equipment at the Phoenix area Guitar centers. One way to get them on the floor.
I saw one at a GC last night in Houston... a sales person was telling two customers about it... I remember hearing:
"It's the last amp you'll ever buy" and responses of "yeah, it looks wicked. Is it loud?" reply "Yeah, really loud."
they didn't even turn the thing on, they just looked on in awe.
This was almost as bad as me looking at the AC30 CC series...
It's a different market that's for sure.
I found a used Kendrick piggyback bassman, so the trip wasn't a total loss.
"It's the last amp you'll ever buy" [is it THAT bad?]
and responses of "yeah, it looks wicked. Is it loud?" reply "Yeah, really loud." [somehow fitting...]
Garbage. And, yes, they seem to be giving out endorsements to just about anyone. Seems like that's the strategy.
Forgot to mention that a couple of months ago I played a Krank Chadwick with matching 2x12 cabinet and it was not very good. The tone was lifeless, no warmth or depth.
Just my 2¢
any amp that balsac and flattus maximus from gwar are using is good enough for me.
Insert Beavis and Butthead Voice:
I used to be a Krank dealer, sounds funny but true. Had a small falling out with the company, but I don't want to get into that, partially my fault, part theirs too.
Anyway, the Rev 100 is great if you need just obscene amounts of gain, and the clean channel is simply outstanding. After Dime died, I sold out of these within a few weeks. Doesn't have the string definition of a triple rec, but great amp for death metal stuff.
But the chadwick, this is where it's at, it's an outstanding amp, basically one of the best hot rodded marshall types I've ever heard. Funny thing is that I can't give them away, however I've sold them to some very finicky high end amp buyers, playing one made them a believer, even if they didn't like the cosmetics of it. I really dig playing this amp, easily gives up a big wall of sound, Joan Jett, old J. Geils, stuff like that. I get some real good roots rocker tones out of it with a tele too. I disliked the amp at first, then spent some time dialing it in, changed my mind quick. I'll definately be keeping a few of these for myself.
The build quality is medium I'd say, not too impressive, but I've seen worse, haven't had one break down yet.
I have read nothing but Krank bashing on the net, but I disagree, pretty darn good amp for the cash in my opinion.
So, you're saying "Krank" is the new "Peavey?"
