Hi there - first time poster here

I've got a second hand VC30 that I've had for about 6 months now - but something I've been having some issues with is getting a really cruddy, low sounding break up with distortions, whether its through the drive channel or pedals.

I put new tubes in it soon as I brought the thing, so I'd be surprised if it was that,

EQ isn't exactly pushing it - I'm plugging into the low input, bright switch on, Low on about 2 o'clock, Mids about 10, Highs about 1-2, Tone about half way...and yet distortions just sounding like crap.

Any suggestions what could be up? Speakers maybe?

I'm mostly playing a PRS SE Tremonti, through a Rangemaster clone and DOD 250 simultaneously (usually on the dirt channel, all reasonably set though), or sometimes a Boss MD2 on the clean.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!! :dunno
