My laptop keeps killing car chargers, power ports (ie. cigarette lighters.....), and power inverters......anyone have any advice to prevent this? It worked fine for a few years, and now it burns up anything I plug in to charge it. I baffled......

A bad battery in the laptop would be my first guess..

That was my first inclination, but the battery will last for at least a couple of hours.......

That doesn't mean it doesn't have a short in one of the cells causing your chargers to overheat and die...I'd get another one from some place that has a lenient return policy...
