I just bought one of these without trying it. What did I get myself into?

All the Larrivee D-60's I've ever played were wonderful guitars. I think you've got yourself neck deep in TONE!

I had an old L-60 and it was a very good instrument.

Larrivée guitars are amazing sounding. They punch way out of their price class IMHO. Everyone that has heard or played mine is shocked by how good it sounds.

I played one a few years ago at Mainely Music in Ellsworth ME. The fact that I remember where and when ought to tell you how much I thought of it!

I own one. It likes medium strings--currently has DR Sunbeams on it.
Mine hasn't been played much and probably will open up more.
Gotta love the combo of herringbone trim with the figured maple binding...

I have an SD-50. The Ds like your 60, are more traditional dreadnoughty, but still Larrivees. I'm pretty sure you'll love it. Outstanding guitars. I play my friend's once a week. The neck width is standard dread, which is too narrow for my tastes, which is why I play the SD (1 and 14/16 vs 1 and 11/16" on yours). If the neck was wider, I would own a D-60 too.

    You didn't make a mistake.
