Just wanting to share a cool story....

I went to see Jon Foreman (lead singer of Switchfoot) on his solo tour last night and his set was based on requests from the audience. When it was really quiet, I asked if i could play a song with him (He brings audience members up on stage all the time). He said "I think we need to build up to that a bit", which I thought was his nice way of saying no, but then in the middle of the song "Dare You To Move" he said, "If you want to come up and play, now's your chance!". I jumped up onto the stage and finished off the song!

The song "Dare You To Move" is really special to me because it was my friend Sam's favorite song. He passed away in September and some friends and I played the song at his memorial service. So last night was a moment of remembrance for me.

Jon is my biggest hero. His songs brought me out of depression and changed my life. He's such a great dude and such a talented singer and guitarist.

Here's the video, taken on my brothers iPhone

    Wow, nicer dude than me.

Someone would have copped the spiky bit of my ASATs headstock in their eye if they'd asked me if they could join in, lol.

    Nice man. Sounds cool.

Not surprising at all. Foreman and the Switchfoot guys are quality human beings. Glad you got to do that OP :)

That's fantastic - what a great story, what a great time.

Good on ya, congrats, Dana O.

PS Hey WOW, I just noticed the gig was at the Lobero Theater in Santa Barbara - I was playing 100 yards away at a private Bday party in the "Three Pickles' building from 8-10pm, while you were playing with Jon!

PS WOW - I just noticed that this gig was at the Lobero Theater in Santa Barbara last night. I was gigging 100 yards away from the Lobero last night, playing a private Bday party in the Three Pickles room. It was a fun gig, but maybe not as fun as your's was! 'Mos 'Def not as cool as your's was (GRIN)
