We do a weekly Neo Soul Tuesday gig here that features a rotation of a bunch of different singers. It's an absolute blast. It's just a vibe gig. No rehearsals.

The singers send us youtube links of songs that they want to do and we arange on the spot. Whatever happens, happens. It's like a Friday night, but on a Tuesday evening.

It's usually my favorite night of the week. Such cool energy there and the crowd is really involved. It's labeled "Neo Soul," but we do old school soul, reggae, and go straight church praise break style stuff occasionally. It's really unscripted.

Here's "Crazy" by Gnarles Barkley with a little quote from "Pass the Peas." I decided to start this one deliberately slow and bouncy. I was in a mood to dig in I guess.

Here's "Brown Skin" by India.Arie into an impromptu "Jungle Boogie" after I butchered the line the first time anyway...

Hope you dig it. Feel free to leave comments and criticisms. Always looking to improve things. Thanks for taking a listen!

DUDE! I especially liked the 2nd video. Great playing obviously, but this looks like a super fun session as well. Loved it!

Thank you. That tune has a tendency to go #CHURCH!

Another night a few weeks back we went straight praise break at the end. The whole place went crazy! It was like a Sunday service in there. This gig is at a club by the way!

I wanted to put together a no stress gig on an off night, and it worked out better than I could have ever imagined. It's a blast. We are usually laughing at each other for one reason or another while we're playing. Sometimes somebody plays something really sweet, sometimes somebody misses a change,... we're cracking up either way.

DeShawn (our drummer) is notorious for screaming at someone when they do something cool. He brings so much energy to the stage. Plus, we're all close on and off stage. That helps too. Playing a weekly gig really puts us in tune together.

We outgrew the first venue we held it at and had to move to the current venue in July. You wouldn't believe it was a Tuesday evening if you were there. It's packed! The vibe is really cool though. There's a ton of energy in the room, but it's still laid back if that makes any sense...

Thanks man, we do too.

It's nice to play an off night that pays well, but it's even nicer that we get to basically just clown around on stage. Half the time, we barely know the song. We always say, "If one of us knows it, we'll make it happen."

We did train wreck a tune for 30 seconds the week before last. The best part is that we were laughing so hard on stage that the audience joined in and was laughing just as hard in a supportive way. When do you see THAT happen?
