I just watched the best hour of television I may have ever seen. Later... with Jools Holland, watch this show. The episode I just saw will be on again on Palladia sunday morning at 10am. Norah Jones, Alabama Shakes (check this band out), Jack White, The Cheiftains, The Secret Sisters, Carolina Chocolate Drops, and Grimes. There wasn't a bad minute in the hour.

Search for his shows on YouTube
Goes way back and is far better than anything you'll see in North America These days

it's amazing that show has stayed 'under the radar'. i've been addicted for years. fwiw, the previous show was no slouch either-- Sir Paul, Elvis, Black Keys among others.

I saw Alabama Shakes a the Newport Folk Fest this year. I kinda felt like I was listening to Janis and Big Brother. She's got some lungs! Good band. Tight, nice groove. Good show.

Neil

I also saw "Later" last night. Really good episode.

Jools keeps it moving. Loved his work with Squeeze too.
It's a nice format Ilove that it's really live.
Not to start a riot -what'd you guys think about McCartney last week?

Been watching this for some time, great show. Jools sits in with some acts on piano, plays mean blues and stride. My favourite was Jeff Beck playing "Drown in my own tears" with a big band.

I was just watching the one with Paul McCartney. Then they pan over and Elvis Costello is set waiting to go, then the The Black Keys, then Neil Diamond - all set up in a circle. And Alic Cooper is in the audience watching. Talk about a lineup.

Jools is a kick arse host and a great keyboardist. Alabama Shakes was awesome and so was pretty much the rest of the show.

I was very pleased the songs he played were all from the Wings era with Denny. I think they are deserving of more attention and sound good nearly 40 years on.

Good point! Great song choices.
I was a little underwhelmed with something about the performance, but dang that's a great band.

Absolutely amazing. Maybe best pure music show ever on tv in my opinion.

PS: could Norah Jones be any more awesome and stunning!? Really fantastic and Alabama Shakes were amazing. Jack White excellent too, even if he had some tuning issues. Def LedZep influence. Great show!!
