    I went to the Lava page, but it wasn't obvious to me whether or not the Lava ELC cable was a solid copper single conductor cable (ie Evidence Audio Melody)? I've read through some of the cable reviews from the cables offered by Lava, but has anyone tried specifically the Lava ELC and Evidence Melody?

    Thanks!

    I would allow an anesthesiologist to put me under, and have a cardiologist crack my chest open, remove my heart, and place it on a tray next to my still body while you compared the two to develop your own conclusion. I think I would survive the duration of the separation.

    But I'm biased of course. Talk is cheap. Get one of each and do the math. Is it Category 1? Category 2? Category 3?

    You decide.

    Shipping is $9.50 USD for 1-2 long cables and some patches if you email me and I send an invoice, otherwise just click on the international shipping button on several of my website pages that adds $12.00

    I've replaced my George L patch cables with Lava ELC's and run Lyric HG's from guitar to pedals and pedals to amp.

    Very transparent cable that lets everything shine through. I definitely reccomend them.

    lol, that was a farcical reply; my point being personal bias makes my opinion highly suspect, and as such, worthless. I thought I had been dramatic enough for the proper effect. If I’m not trying to be helpful I try to be funny. I don’t always succeed :) Really my opinion means nothing. /me ducks out.

    Whoops, I am. Sorry. Taken for granted. My nick is a bit nebulous.

    tony(at)evidenceaudio(dot)com for any questions would be best.

    I have a mix of Evidence Melody and Lava ELC in my signal path:

    guitar->pedalboard = 12 foot Melody

    pedalboard interconnects = ELC

    pedalboard->amp = 15 foot ELC

    loop send and return = 3 foot Melodys (ies?)

    Both are great sounding, compliant cables. Very full frequency and balanced sounding. Can't go wrong either way IMO.

    email sent.

    btw, you may want to put your company in your sig or maybe not, but it was not clear to me if you were from evidence, or just a fan of csi or something. a lot of users are gibsonkicksass or something, and I don't usually associate them with working at gibson. Thanks.

    Roger that. I'm just a lurker and don't post unless I've had a few or I'm caught up from soldering. The less I say the better.

    Question answered. Sorry for the rant. If you feel my answer is useful or worth debating you may share it.

    Cheers,
    Tony

    Tony,
    I've heard only the best things about EA cable. As I posted in a recent thread here on TGP, I am on the cusp of upgrading all my cabling, but EA might be beyond my budget, especially since I've got a busy pedalboard. Too bad there's no easy, low cost way of a/b'ing this type of product.

    SIGN ME UP!!!!!!

    I honestly think that I would jump at the purchase of better cables if I could affordably try them to determine exactly how much better my tone is with those cables.

    I hope to somewhat answer this by having HarryJ a fellow TGP'r record clips of my 10 guitar cables in the next 2-3 weeks...I have even thought of doing a video and demo'ing each one and put that on my website. I may do both...
