Anyone else use this style strap lock???
No real reason for asking, just curious...
i have a bunch, i love them.
Who makes them? They'd look nice with my Brookwoods!!
I use them on two of my guitars, love 'em.
I used to use those in the early 80's. They work really well, and are still available.
My first electric that I bought was a Univox Gimme (Les Paul Copy) and it came with a pair of those on it. I used them for a bunch of years until the leather had essentially worn itself thin.
Over the years as I bought other electrics, I bought this style of strap lock:
But when I replaced the worn out ones on the Univox, I stayed old school and bought new leather ones. I still play that guitar, too.
I need to get me some of those. The schallers I use on one of my guitars really project through my pickups on high gain settings.
Where can one get those?
Used them back in the 80's in hair metal days when we threw perfectly good guitars around like they were cord wood. Never had a problem with them. Plus, there's no separate parts that fit on your strap so it's functional with any strap. Pretty handy when you have to borrow one cause you forgot yours.
I use those. They are hard to find! I stumbled upon this thread from googling to try to find some more of them!
Mawson sells them on Reverb. The leather does no look as good as my original but an old strap will fix that.
That's why I stopped using Schallers on my guitar. Still use then on my bass with no problems though.
I didn't know that these leather ones existed until I saw this thread just now.
