I have learned a few of their songs and enjoyed the process, I enjoyed playing their songs in cover bands.
Just not something I feel like listening to very often. If Im going to binge on old timey music of that style and era it would more likely be Black Sabbath or Deep Purple.

Misspelling who’s name? If I misspelled someone’s name, it was completely unintentional. Who exactly is it you think I dislike? So far it’s been Yngwei, Zeppelin, and Chris Cornell. All artists I completely adore. I think there’s been some kind of miscommunication

Some claim it's about someone sneaking around in your hedges, but many believe it was about pubic hair being the hedges.
If he had just written, “I wanna sex you up,” he could have averted a lot of confusion. I guess it took one more generation of lyricist after Plant...

I read a book about Hendrix by a guy who really tore LZ apart about their sexually suggestive lyrics, claiming that their Blues forefathers were more discrete & LZ were ludicrously lewd.

Fair enough. And they should’ve paid to begin with. But most of those old Blues songs were variations of riffs kicking around long before even Holwlin’ Wolf or Muddy stepped up to a mic. Those guys didn’t invent those lines.
It's not just old blues songs though.
Page took credit for writing "Black Mountain Side"--when all he did was cop Bert Janch's arrangement (verbatim) of a traditional song (under the title of Black Waterside).
And he did this earlier with the Yardbirds--took Davy Graham's arrangement of 'She Moved through the Fair' and gave himself writing credit.
I mean it isn't just passing similarities, he lifted the entire arrangement, including the tunings.

As for the Blues ripoffs, they were BLATANT ripoffs of songs known to be written by Willie Dixon. original pressings credited Page and Plant. That's just a plain **** thing to do. No excuses.

Yeah, they are not all that good for the most part. Their saving grace is they aren't as all-out terrible as some other groups.
Hell, Pete Townshend is often cited as a great writer, but I wince at some of his forced rhymes. Then there is the entire Yes catalog.
I love Yes, but have NO clue what the fork Jon Anderson is singing about --unless I eat two big handfuls of 'shrooms.
What’re you taking about? lol

I can't listen to them because of the whole.. Jimmy Page 28, Lori Mattix 13 thing.

Completely kills the whole act for me, as unfair as that is on the other members.

Your gonna be one disappointed down under dude. What your fav acts do religiously, politically, morally, social & businesswise will kill a lot of enjoyment for you. The closet of a lot of rocknrollers, media and sports figures would stun us all into submission, especially the squeaky clean appearing ones. Except for Sir Paul McCartney.

Exactly. If you want your male lead singer to sound like a female porn star who's phoning it in, Plant is your guy.
Middle school nonsense from 40 years back. Isn’t it boring? So many other things to think about. Obsessed, and suppressed you are.

I’d suggest that it took you longer to conceive of that comeback than the amount of time I have spent thinking about Robert Plant for any reason. Look in the mirror.
