Guys Matte Henderson just shipped me a S Style Lentz that he was trying for me to check out.

Holy S#$% this is a killer guitar.
Great neck, perfect fretwork, lovely body shape, trem stays in tune, and the pickups are killer.

This guitar through a great amp is just something to be experienced.
Notes just seem to jump off of the fretboard.

    Great job Scott!
The Lentz crew just continue to outdo themselves

Where should this go next IAN?

Scott is making the new SSL model with a newly designed body and headstock. My alder version should arrive within the next few weeks!

...are you talking about the new SSL model? Do you have the two-tone burst prototype or the three-tone "purple-burst" that I saw a few weeks ago? I know there are a few nearing completion...one's got my name on it! I played the protoype for a couple of days and loved it...in addition to its superb tones and feel, Scott's new body shape feels more comfortable than a Strat to me...the contours make it "fit" just right. It is also much lighter than any of the other Strat-type guitars I've owned.

I've been looking for a Strat or a Strat-inspired guitar without the "ice-pick, plinkyness" that can sometimes plague this type of guitar/pickup combination. The choice alder, craftsmanship, pickups, and the way Scott Jr. wires the pickup configuration makes the SSL sound huge...no piercing highs unless you set the amp that way.:AOK

Incredible guitar by an incredible builder. Scott's neck feels like the good old days. Love the round lam!

Is is indeed Scott's two tone burst and it is lovely!
Great guitar guys. Truly a stunning S Style guitar..
Scott's body and headstock, no doubt, but still has that Strat sound big time and then some.

    Hey Lance and Matte.
Glad you guys are like it! That one has been around the block a few times. I don't know where it's headed next.

Man it's good to be makign the 3 pickup tremulated guitar again!
This new SSL represents the evolutionary next step for the old S style. That guitar has been taken to the next level with our SSL shape and headstock as the platform. Some changes made have been a new standard neck shape, and a revoicing of the guitar specifically for alder. Note that the original ash is still available.

Please someone order one in inca silver with a tortiose guard so I don't have to! ;)

I sure wish the area around the shop wasn't so industrial so I could get some nice outdoor shots. Then again maybe I need some good lights. Or lessons from Matte! The spray booth has enough lighting for shooting lacquer just not enough for the pictures!
