"Ultimate bastardiztion"? It's just a Tele with an expensive paint job.

Graphics that are meant to be viewed when the guitar is vertical, as opposed to in playing position are an abomination to me. Ala...

Other than that, it looks fine to me. I doubt Leo would care as long as he was making some money on it :D

Looks nice, but way too expensive. Caters to the multi-millionaire players and collectors.

    No. That's frigging sweet.

THIS is the "ultimate bastardization" of the Telecaster spirit:

    http://www.themusiczoo.com/product/...lecaster-Electric-Guitar-Butterscotch-Blonde/

"This '52 Ultimate Relic has been worn down to the bone by the one and only John Cruz, who paid extra attention to the minute details of dinging up the butterscotch blonde finish. Besides the larger areas of finish removed from the forearm area of the body, as well as the back, the guitar is covered in nicks and dings to give the impression of an instrument that could really have a story to tell...."

...if it had been played hard by a real musician, instead of a collector with $6,500 burning a hole in his pocket.

The Telecaster Spirit: clip a picture of Chesty Morgan out of an old 1950's girlie mag and scotch tape it to the guitar.

Leo Fender was a business man. He was about making the largest profit with the smallest investment. I don't think he would be upset. He would probably like the idea of a guitar selling for that much.

I can't even pick that one up.
Now, put a wolf and a unicorn flying through clouds on it and I'm going to outbid steve balmer in an auction.

Excellent point. Of course, you can also play the whole show with your foot on the monitor. :)

I was thinking $200 rather than $20,000 would do it for me. :aok

Dreams are free. They'll sit on that one for a long long long time before anyone pays 20 grand for it.

You might be right...or you might be surprised. Many of the high dollar Custom Shop pieces go pretty quickly to collectors. Fender makes guitars sometimes just to do something they think is cool...and not because Joe Six Pack won't be buying it.
