Can anyone suggest a case for my Lester that's not the typical violin shape? The Gator is all that I've found that comes close to what I'm looking for. Any others?

    - Square (so it can stack easily with other gear)
    - Large storage area for stuff
    - Fairly sturdy

Plenty of Road Case companies make LP style cases that are rectangular.

If you can find one, the best Les Paul case is the Protector, which was actually by Gibson during the dreaded Norlin era 70's. I have one for my Les Paul TV Special, and it's a great case. Padding is excellent, the extended rubber coated handle makes it easy to change grips, it's relatively lightweight, but very durable - made from Azdel - same material used for hockey pucks. Only drawback is that you can't lock it, as the latches are molded. I use a bicycle lock for mine when I'm at a gig.

The Series I Protector case is the best LP case. I wish I hadn't sent the Protectors I had along with the guitars I got them with.

Aside from not being very stackable, does the protector have a good size storage compartment?
