I don't care for highly figured tops, I like plain tops with interesting grain. So it wins on that, but I hate clown bursts, so yuck.

I would love it natural finish, or Tobacco/Tea/Bourbon/Lemon Burst.

I like it, but as others have said, a faded finish would look better.

I think the guitar is unique and it's top is like a birth mark.

A lot of other top on LP's all look the same.

The cool thing about this one, is it stands out.

Looking different is not always a bad thing.

Mineral flecks, cool. Mineral stripes? Not cool. It’s fugly, but I’m sure it has a great personality.

I don't mind the mineral streak, but the burst being uneven is not pretty -- especially down by the lower strap-button, right.on.the.seam. That's a real WTF moment seeing that.

Pretty much anything but clown burst makes it passable.

Looks fine to me. And love the mismatch.

I wouldn't say ugly but it should've been a solid colour, not a burst. I am surprised no one caught that before it went out the door. Gibson says every guitar is checked and tested before leaving the factory. It kind of makes you think that may not always be true.

I could live with the top, but I’m not a fan of the paint job, either.

It looks like its drooling. I'd pass on that one. Luckily there are 25,000,000 other Les Pauls out there.

They should have done that in a honeyburst.
Or a gold top or black top or other solid color.
Heritage cherry does not work for that.

Like- has 99% more personality than most other Les Pauls. Has a real "working man's" aesthetic to it. Other players are guaranteed to remember it.

Oof. Ugly color, terrible fade, mismatching halfs...not a crime but grain that looks like it was cracked and gorilla glued back together is a hard pass. Great example where "different" is the reason why they don't make them like that on purpose. :)

OP, I think others' opinions don't matter. I love my silver burst LP. One of my best buds thinks it's the ugliest color scheme on an LP... and he hates LPs!

It matters if you like it.

My concern is another thing you mentioned but no one else seems to have touched, and I am not at all capable of addressing. I'd wonder if it's a fake. I feel like Gibson would have, y'know, noticed the giant mineral stripe and not passed it.

    YMMV.

I don't mind the wood at all. But the burst - both colour and spray pattern are awful. To be honest, I feel like it's one of the ugliest LP's I've ever seen.
