What is your favorite R8/9 burst? Have any example?

Lighter bursts I tend to gravitate towards the "brown/golden" hues like Iced Tea, Honey, or Lemon. Some Cherry bursts are cool, but not very often.

I love rich darkbursts like Brockburst or Bourbonbursts also. The deep reddish brown to a lighter version of the some color is pretty amazing. I don't like the black to gold burst colors. I do love the burst colors and pattern on my Telecaster. My only Les Paul at the moment is ebony :(

My particular favorite burst examples would be Pearly Gates and the Lester used by Billy Crudup's character, Russell Hammond, in Almost Famous. and Paul Kossoff's LP

I selected cherry, but really I mean washed cherry, as that is what my R8 is!

I like Bourbon the best. Like this:

OK, I cheated, that's a real '59, but they do have Historics in that finish...

That's a real '59? I want THAT one. You don't actually see too many real 59's that are as nice looking as the reissues.

Don't try to understand. BTW: Do you know if Vic still owns that or did he sell it?

I don't. I have 'Beauty of the Burst'. Some nice looking Bursts of course, but most of them aren't as visually killer as the best R9's I've seen. Most, not all. Some (like that one above, the Brock Burst) stand out. For every killer original Burst I see 2-3 that are visual yawners.

Of course there are more big top R9's out there, we're comparing 19 years of high production vs. 3 years of low production.

    Here are some nice OG's

    That's all I'm saying, a lot more R8/R0/R9's than original 58-60 Bursts.

No disrespect to The (Authentic) Grail intended.

My fave is Sunset Tea Burst but you didn't include R0s in your qualifying post.

Hey guys, I've been posting this photo of an R0 I'm buying from Mark in NH, what Burst color is this guitar? Kind of like a dark cherry burst, somewhere between washed cherry and brock burst.

This is my favorite, but I'm a bit bias. :D It's my R9!

Never apologise for bias on behalf of your baby! She's a beauty, by the way.

For the poll I voted cherryburst even though I like cherryburst and tobacco bursts equally. Which is a lit-tle biased on my part, since I happen to own one of each . . .

I'm now partial to bourbon burst but then again I'm biased. I was actually looking for a honey or lemon burst when this R8 landed in my lap.

I call my R9 "woodgrain on a acid trip"

My GO in lemon is very subdued but, beautiful in it's own right
