I'm trying to find out what pickups are in my Les Paul and exactly what year it was made.

    The serial number is 01924314

From what I've read on the Gibson website I think it was made in 2001.
Though I can't find anywhere that tells me what pickups are in it.
I think they're burstbuckers, but I need to know for sure.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Pics or description will help. It was made in 04 according to your serial #. 1st and 5th digits are the year.

Have you removed the pickups to look at the stickers underneath? New Burstbuckers and '57 Classics have a paper sticker underneath. Just make sure you have the right sized screwdriver (a phillips No. 1, or even a little no. 0, not the standard no. 3 size) and notice where the screws came from. There are of course four little screws holding each mounting ring, but you should notice that they're different sizes so keep track of them so they can go back in the same place. This is the best way to identify the pickups, because even if you track down the year and the specs, you're not guaranteed that the original pickups are in there unless you're the original owner in which case you'd have the warranty card with the date it left the factory.

I am the original owner though only God knows where the warranty card is.
I guess I'll have to take the pickups out.
    Thanks for the help guys.

If that's a stock 2004, those are most likely "BurstBucker Pro" pickups.

Call Gibson with the serial number and ask them. It's a toll-free 24-7 number.

Here is a site to decode your Gibson serial number.
    http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx

According to that, here is the info. No pick up info though, sorry.

Your guitar was made at the
    Nashville Plant, TN, USA

    July 11st, 2004
    Production Number: 14

They should be Burstbucker Alnico Vs, to be later known simply as Burstbucker Pros.
