He's a great player and puts on one of the best live shows ever! He also happens to be one of the most approachable and friendly guys you'll ever meet. I told him he was one of the people that inspired me to play guitar and he just started laughing and said "Don't blame this on me!"

I have a natural 72 thinline reissue that I bought after seeing him. Next time he was in town I took it to the gig and waited to have him sign it. He whipped it out of my hands and started playing it, commenting that the neck was a little thinner than his. Then he signed it very neatly and large under the bridge. 10 years later I've almost worn it off. Maybe time for an update!

I got the chance to meet and hang out with Tab right before Katrina hit NO. I couldn't have asked for a more gracious, funny, and humble host. Great guy, and a superb talent.

He's a great guy, with superb singing and guitar playing skills.

I'll tell you this--not only does he put on a great show, but the women in Louisiana LOVE Tab Benoit. I saw him at Jazz Fest 2 years ago (his backing band was LeRoux!) and I have never seen so many beautiful women going crazy over a blues guy. They were nutz over him---he even did a blues version of NO Ladies, and I thought some might faint.

If you like this type of blues then you owe it to yourself to check out where it came from...

Tab would laugh his ass off if he read this stuff. LOL.

He still calls me, "Guitar Mike." What a hoot.

    He is a great guy.
