You might want to look at an early 90's LP Special. Nice guitars, P-100s which can either be swapped out or easily modded to be P-90s, and they're seriously undervalued.

Have you tried looking at used ones?

Is a used guitar ok? What is your budget? With that info, you can narrow down the fied a bit. I'll suggest a used Hamer Monaco Elite. It's well built, sounds, and plays great.

On the cheaper side, I would suggest a Godin gold top w/p90s

It's really so simple - GIbson Les Paul Deluxe and a set of Lollar/Fralin/Gibson P90s.

All great options- one more to consider might be the Epi LP 56 reissue. Good quality for around 5 bills. It only comes in Gold Top- be nice if they did it in bursts.

Another option to look for, while not a goldtop, would be the discontinued Les Paul "Gem" series. They are LP studios w/P90s. Gibson produced them some years ago now but I see them show up on e-bay all the time.

I had a flame-top '56 Historic for a few years - I loved it. Recently sold it because I actually prefered the playability and tones of (gasp!) a used Guild Bluesbird with P92s! It does everything my '56 did but better. Freddie King tones included.

Funny you posted this. I've been hunting for a goldtop w/ P90s, but today I realized I may be able to find Guild Blues 90 or Bluesbird for 1/2 the cost. I love Guilds and every single one I've owned has been fantastic.

+1 on a reissue Deluxe. I have one with the stock minis and it is an awesome axe.

I also have an R4 with P90s, and it is a killer axe......
