I know its possible and seems pretty handy. Anyone know how to perform this particular mod?
Gonna bump this. I know someones knows how to get this done.
I'm not sure, but I would sure like to know!
If I ever figure it out I will let you know.
I can perform that mod and many others...
Would you care to share how its done? I have the ability to do most mods, I just need to know how.
I would love to know the details of this mod as well!
I know lots of people can perform it. I'm looking to do it myself, just need to know how to wire it.
I have a DL-4 in the mail and want to do this mod. I can do it myself, just need to know the wiring.
bumb. Interested in this also.
I've heard its on the more difficult side because the switches are board-mounted. Is this true?
it's very easy. just take out the PCB, mount new switches, and wire the leads to the board.
At risk, I'd say if you have ever made an electronic repair, you couldn't mess this up.
Just make sure you get momentary switches. Also, search around, because the form factor of the switch is also important.
this is the video I used.
Anyone wants to know how to do the looper switch mod?
I'm just gonna leave this here:
Put the unit in front of you and remove the bottom plate (screws are marked red)
Look at the opened unit and look for the 16-position-switch (marked in red)
Cut the redmarked leftmost leg of the switch in the middle and solder cables to the ends. Use heatshrink!
Connect both cables to a latching switch.
This switch will now allow you to switch between normal operation and looper mode.
KEEP IN MIND: You need to set the presetselector switch to another model than "looper" because otherwise you'll be swichting between looper and looper and scratch your head for days why it doesn't work (yes, it has happened to me).
Hope you enjoy this one, I might give out some more pedalmod secrets over time depending on my mood.
Have a nice day
Is this the right kind of switch?: http://uraltone.com/kauppa/product_...arling.html&XTCsid=cd0jdva77cljg9pjuudcbh4r04
Does it matter which terminal connects to which side of the leftmost leg?
That switch is not what you're looking for. That switch is a momentary switch. that means it only establishes connection as long as you step on it.
You'll need a latching version like this one
I'd recommend at least getting a dpdt switch because that will allow you to add an led to see if you're in looper mode or not.
If you're serious about this drop me a pm.
Ok, thanks! I have to think if I want to perform this with a possibility to mess things up
Hey, hope this thread is still alive.
I've been looking to do this mod as well. It's a killer having to dial in to the loop mode during a show, hands are far too busy to be dealing with that.
I've managed to scour the internet and locate the required materials which I have purchased.
I have moderate experience with modifying electronics but was hoping to attain a little further guidance to actuate this modification.
Would be of enourmous help if I could see a diagram of the wiring for the switch and led, or even a description.
Please help me out?
I have recieved several private messages regarding this thread.
I will make a detailed guide on how to do the mod. I just need a DL4 to do it. I'll hopefully get my hands on one in the next week.
I'll post here again when it's done
