@PaisleyWookie Why on earth would Line6 join the now more crowded reactive load fray? Waste of energy. You can feed some of the existing ones out to a Helix as it is. I see no meaningful differentiator.

Thanks for the reply! I have two FS5U’s that I plan to use. I’ll use the other for another switch. I’m glad to hear I can use one for tap tempo, that frees up one switch on the HXS. I’ve tried and asked about using them with the Helix but it will not support the momentary switch for tap tempo. I work on a quiet stage most of the time, the FS5U’s are so much quieter than those on the Helix.

    Can’t wait to try this!

Crowded reactive load fray of two companies? Who's got a reactive load with IR loading? Two Notes. There's the Ox, which is all proprietary. That's it.

This may have been asked before but on the HX stomp where is the adjustable impedance setting located?

If you're activating the tuner you're almost certainly between songs, so you don't mind if it instantly activates a different snapshot first?

Go to the edit mode, and then scroll all the way to the left, to the little circle. then page right, and you can adjust the impedance there.

Good point. The snapshot could still instantly activate, and if held for a couple of seconds the tuner could open up. I'd be on board with that.

That would be fantastic. Add a Suhr reactive load for how and you are there until this happens.

Thanks so much! What do you suggest for a setting? Can someone comment on how to set this up or is it dependant on the guitar you use? I find higher settings are really good for acoustic guitars but not sure about electric

I leave mine at 1Mohm for all guitars, and so far with different instruments, it's been great. Much better (IMHO) than auto impedance.

Yeah I'm golden for now. This basically just means instead of plugging into my Presonus, I plug into the HX Stomp from the Suhr.

Why do you prefer that setting vs. Auto? (I'm a noob when it comes to this. I primarily play Les Pauls or an SG with humbuckers - so trying to figure if this is relevant to me. Thanks in advance, Wookie).

Just sounds better with all the guitars I've tried so far.

I just compared auto to 1mohm and sounds the same but lower settings are clearly darker which is what my experience has shown me, in auto does it adjust to the guitar?

Then instead of something snarky, respond with the correct answer. :)

@PaisleyWookie you mention the two with built in IRs, which is already a good dogfight, plus the other load devices that give you a line level out you could route thru a Helix (what I would do if I thought tube amps were worth the hassle for tracking).

As they have said on this forum, L6 is looking to reinforce where they are already strong (Helix) or try to do something really new (Powercab, Shuriken). What you are talking about here is a logo difference in a market with plenty of good choices with growing fanbases... Would you invest to be 3rd/4th in a market like that? I wouldn't.
