Line 6 Spider 3 amps I heard on vacation

This is nothing more than an observation. Was on a cruise over Christmas, all the bands on the ship played through GK bass amps and Spider 3 guitar amps. All sounded great. Was it their choice? Who knows but they all made it work, and work well.

I have said it before and will say it again any amp in a good players hands or in a good band can sound good. Set the amp up knowing its limits and you are good to go.

Boogies aren't allowed on cruise ships because they cause them to sit too low in the water.

Other thing I forgot to mention. They miced them by just hanging a sm57 off center so the side of the mic was flat on the grill. I think this took the high end laser cone off the sound.

any of the spider amps can of course work..as can the flextone 3 amp which was a great amp....player maked a diff too but they all can be made to sound ok.

The Flexys are great.

IMO the trick to the Spiders was to mike them not to have them at full tilt volume (except for the Spider Valve series - more crankage = more greatness).
