I guess you're right. I'd forgotten that even the Ownhammer IRs they sell on the Marketplace are DRM protected somehow.

Glad someone gave it a try and found it useful. I’ve left it in my new patches, I just like what it adds a lot. I have moved it to follow my drive pedals though. I like it better between the ODs and the amp than at the beginning of the chain.

Just updated to 2.81 from 2.80 -- all smooth

The updates now list step 4 as optional. You were right about that not being necessary. :) So I didn't this time.

He didn't really answer and I had a similar situation. Late to the party updating.

Just in case someone finds this thread looking for answers.

I had to update HX Edit and then the 2.81 updated in 5 mins. (after 30 mins of waiting prior)

He finally rebooted his computer and thanked me in Instant Message where I reached out to help.

I've been noticing this too. Also wondering what the fix is...

You seem to have something here... I don't change the impedance, but I do change the IR's on a lot of my patches with snapshots, which are the ones with lag that never existed in 2.7. Seems like a new bug.

Why is my motivation to play at its highest when I'm at work? Then, when I get home, I'm too lazy to play. :thud This is not fair. Is there a setting on my Helix to fix this? :FM

I'm on LT firmware 2.6 atm; if I update to 2.81 will my loaded IRs be deleted or stay put (I ask because of the big HX Core update - I believe they didn't change previously)?

Follow the directions and do a complete backup, then restore after the update.

If you just follow the directions, you'll be great.

Using the new hotkey feature it should be possible to use it to trigger some servos to kick you in the ass from the Helix. Even easier would be to set it up to play back audio of your mother-in-law berating you until you start jamming. :idea

I updated from 2.80 to 2.81 and the problem with the snapshot switching lag is fixed for me, as it was in the release notes as a known issue and fixed in 2.81 ("audible crossfade between IR's"). Now the snapshots that change IR's switch seamlessly like they did in 2.71.

    Cheers

I have a switch going out on my Helix and one LED light doesn't work (a different switch). I got email saying it will be a $90 an hour bench fee + parts. Has anyone had a similar issue? Does anyone have any idea of what the price will be? I am just trying to get an estimate before I mail it.

I have already read them and it doesn’t talk about IRs.

I have patches that uses IRs in locations up to about 100. It would be pain to blindly have to relink them. If I don’t have to go through and note what uses what, that would be good information to know.

When you do the backup, the globals, patches, and IRs are saved. When you restore from backup you can pick what you want to restore.

Apparently there is a bug on the LT where it says the output is line level but it isn't? This getting fixed in a 2.82? I haven't tested it myself yet...

I think that only affects the 1/4" outs. If you set it to Instrument and then set it back to Line, it will stay there as long as the LT is powered on. You'd have to do that again the next time you power up.

Gotcha, hopefully I remember that each time. Is it on the slate for 2.82?
