For any Dean DeLeo/Stone Temple Pilots fans, Dean has been answering questions on Instagram for the last few days (they got a new social media person who came over from a fan Facebook page).

Anyway... Dean got asked about his favorite fuzz

    It's in the Helix.....

Isn’t the bass scrambler in the helix? The guitar fuzz scrambler I think he’s talking about is a different animal.

    Still sounds cool though.

Helix LT firmware 2.81.1 is now live.

    Hot fix for LT only

1/4" output level resetting upon a power cycle bug.

Not fair! Why don't you replicate the bug on Helix floor, so we floor users wouldn't be jealous and could download something new aswell?

I haven't even had a chance to install 2.81.0 yet. Now I know what it feels like to own a Fractal product. ;)

Okay, 2.81.1 is now also out for Helix Floor, Helix Rack/Control, Helix Native, HX Effects, HX Stomp, and Spider Valve MkII. We've added the LT bug, removed it, and reverted the release number (and release date) to that of 2.81. So it looks and smells like the old 2.81, but it's the new 2.81. With a new bug, but then removed. With the same release number and date.

Why didn't we include any other bug fixes? Because we aim to please.

    Download it now!

/s because someone will inevitably take this seriously

I'm not going to have to read and follow the installation notes on this one, am I?

We had band practice today. First time after updating Helix to 2.81 and using the new Rev model. What should I say? The Rev is f#*@ing awesome...I am completely flashed and have a new favorite amp...
    Rock on line6.

Anybody ever see the message "The Helix device failed to recall snapshot data properly" in HX Edit? It seems perhaps my go-to preset has become corrupted between 2.80 and 2.81. Anybody else have this happen? I just did a factory reset (hold 7-8 during boot) and then re-restored my 2.80 backup again just in case I missed a step, but it's doing the same thing. I also tried restoring just the single preset export from 2.80 and am having the same issue. What's really odd on the unit is i press snapshot stomps the sound changes but the stomp LEDs dont change. then in stomp mode the stomps dont seem to be toggling correctly either... i made this quick video to show what i'm describing.

If i switch from this preset to a new/blank preset and insert the first amp/cab (whowatt!) it sounds normal, and i can adjust the knobs, eg gain, etc and hear the change, but the display is frozen on Drive 5.0... if i press a stomp to change from snapshot 1 to 2 suddenly the Drive knob display values update and snapshots appear to switch correctly...

    is my helix sick?! :(

edit: i tried both of these too.
    4. Holding footswitch 9+10 on boot restores presets, setlists, globals and IRs (restores factory bundle) "THIS WILL OVERWRITE ALL USER PRESETS AND SETLISTS
    5. Holding footswitch 10+11 on boot will rebuild your presets in the latest loaded firmware
