Studio recording only guy here, so all my modelers are in the world of software:

    • Pod Farm - good for its time, but not quite up to today's standards
    • Amplitube 3 - came free with some piece of hardware; never liked it
    • Amplitube 4 Max - got a killer deal on it; like some of the expansion packs (Orange, Mesa Boogie, Fender), but still lots of not great models in the standard amps
    • S-Gear 2.7 - still in my standard template for late breakup through crunch sounds; just limited in its offerings and painfully slow development.
    • Bias FX Pro - my biggest regret - not good. Brittle, over-compressed sounds, klutzy slow interface...what can I say? I was wooed by the glossy marketing.
    • Bias FX 2 Pro - considerably better than the prior version, though still considerably below the competition. I use it very, very rarely.
    • Bias Amp 2 Pro - good at what it does, but how often do you want *just* an amp simulation with no effects? You can roll your own signal chain of course, but I rarely use it.
    • ReValver 4 - getting long in the tooth, and in need of the next version; but it's still my favorite for medium and high gain sounds. The Greener pushing a 6505 is still my go-to for solos.
    • Helix Native - really hit and miss. The Placater is amazing; the PV Panama is woeful; the Revv is pretty great; the 2204 is flatulent and a pale shadow of the real deal (compare the 2204 to the JCM800 in Spark if you want to feel bad for Line6). Stays in my template for all of the useful effects though. Recently been making use of the pitch and harmony effects.
    • Spark - basically a one-trick pony (it models 3 Marshall guitar amps and 1 Marshall bass amp). Still, in my standard template for plexi and JCM800 sounds. Perfect for anything from "Dance the Night Away" to "Lay It Down."

This should be how things have gone in my journey with digital modeler gear.

..... Four years went well with owning only the All mighty Axe FX II. After I decided to sell it things went nuts and I have owned/sold modeler gear wayyyy too much.

I forgot SGear. TBH the only purchase I have made that I haven't tried to resell and still works perfectly for what it does.
