I've always wondered what the "tone bender" sound was. I've had the tone of this MG Music Tony Tender stuck in my head and couldn't find a pedal that produced it but came across it yesterday:

    http://www.mgmusic.net/ingles/pedais.asp

I'm guesing by the name it is a tone bender type fuzz...is this correct? (*sound clips are at the bottom of the page once you select the pedal)

Also, are there any other pedals out there that can acheive this same sound for around $100-150?

I have the Pro Bender and love it. The D.A.M. Mkll, Throbak Stone Bender, and the MJM Brit Bender(original version) are all killer clones of the 2 knob Sola Sound Tonebender MKll, which is a classic 3 transistor British fuzz. The Fuzz Face was kind of the American take on that, but has it's little differences (only 2 transistors)
It pays big time to get to know the difference between the 2 knob MKll Tonebender, and the later 3 knob version, and the way they sound. The D.A.M. site has some great info on the evolution of the Tonebender.
The cool thing about the Throbak Stone Bender is that it has a lot of extra flexibility that the others don't have. And they sound awesome. I can't wait for my Fuzz Haze to arrive in the mail. It will go nicely with my Overdrive Boost.

+1 on the Pheonix stuff. Love the range knob and how it fills in the bottom end when needed.
