I am interested in finding some new music. What are some bands you love, that most people haven't heard of, yet. Please list name, website (or where to find them), and style of music. My contribution is a NYC group called Basement Band. I saw them live a few weeks ago and then bought their CD. Good stuff. They do folk rock. The female vocalist is awesome. They seem to have listings in several places. Here is one:

there is a band from nyc called 'federale' that I think is really good.

latch on to a 'scene' and check out the bands that those people like.

Sooooo... aren't they ALL "local bands" until they get a record deal to become national acts??? Just curious...

Im in a Cover band in Detroit and have had the pleasure on 2 occasions this past year too open up for a Local shredder virtuoso named Sean Baker and The Sean Baker Orchestra.
    http://www.myspace.com/theseanbakerorchestra
Ive seen hundreds of national and local shows in my 45 year life span too date and this guy is easily one of the top Classy Shredders I have seen/heard.
Hell he owns 5 or 6 of Paul Gilberts personal guitars as well as has Bruce Bouillet of RacerX fame producing and playing on his last cd as well as his new one.
If you like shred that is heavy riff laden yet quite melodic and theory driven check them out.
He's a really cool guy btw and teaches guitar too anyone who wants the lessons.
