Logic Pro X - Moving loops and such to a different drive?

My question is that when you make the alias, and then copy that back to the original spot where the folder was, rename it and delete the original folder, are there any audio files actually in that alias folder? I guess I don't understand the concept of the alias folder with the mac.

An alias on a Mac is called a symlink in Unix type OSs, it is just a pointer to another folder or file.

No. An alias is a reference to a folder that happens to be in another location.

It is a pointer, if you open it with the finder it should open the folder that it points to, it will only be empty if the target folder is empty.
