I just bought a Fender EJ Ash body and am thinking of putting some Lollars on it. I was looking at the Vintage Tweeds but a concerned that it may end up sounding to bright. Any opinions from people with Lollars?

Call Lollar himself. When I bought P90's from him I talked to him for a while to dial in the right set for me. Tell him what you are looking for in a Strat set and I'm sure he will dial you in a set.

mmmm... drinks... been there myself many times! ;-)

actually, if you're worreid about being too bright... you might ask him about the "vintage blonde" pickups... they seem to be voiced for "late tweeds" to "early black face".

I had a set of Lollar blondes, and I felt they were not as bright as vintage Fralins. Clear and good definition, but a little warmer than I wanted. I ended up putting the Fralins back in.

    Which Fralins did you get?

They are early Fralins -- before he had different models, as I understand it. I think they would be equivalent to his vintage / vintage hot models. The set with the lowest output.
