I just put them(Lollars) in my historic firebird V,
They totally rock, articulate with more definition and grit than the stock
pups. They go from sweet clean to nasty growl.

A mini HB is a mini HB. There are no differences.

I've got a pair in an alder Strat. I think they're fantastic -- like a slightly hot, super phat Tele.

they are the new MiniHum of choice for the Vinetto Legato, Vinetto Deuce and Legato Custom.

Call me if you need a better endorsement.

So there's no audible difference between a Les Paul Deluxe-type mini H/B that has adjustable pole pieces and a Firebird-type mini H/B that doesn't? They've always sounded different to me.

I don't intend this question to start a pissing contest. I actually, genuinely want to know the answer as I was hoping to fit them in a project guitar soon.

    Cheers,

    Charly

Sorry Cheebatone, bad sarcasm on my part. Yes, there is a difference. I've evaluated every minihum in production today. e-mail me at my website if you want to discuss.

I have the Lollar's in a Les Paul Deluxe. They are great pickups, much better than the reissue mini humbuckers.

Big difference. Other than what I've heard tonally from vintage samples of Gibson LP Dlx's and Firebirds, I've seen posted copy from Gibson's archives stating a difference. I've always found a harshness in the tone of Firebird minis, but no with the Deluxes. Current reissues have Firebird minis with ceramic mags; LP Dlx minis have AlNiCo II mags.

I've been using them for about a year now, since I got the prototypes from Jason. They're my current faves!

I've bben playing a Hamer Eclipse a lot lately- 2 SD Firebird style minis, on a mahogany body with a stop bar. Add some overdrive and its real sweet. I think the n is alnico and the bridge ceramic.
