    kinda cool. Makes sense to have 6v6s in a fender. That said, I love my blues jr with the 84's. Maybe its just because it's the only el84 amp I have.

    i like the JJ El84s too but i'd love to hear some black plates in there too.

    Billm did the Octal mod to my BJ and I run JJ6V6s. It sounds great and was not expensive for materials and labor. Makes the amp sound much fuller with rounder tones.

    I find that just a few tweaks, new speaker, and the amp is fine at home amp.
