I am looking for a head or combo with a sweet, shimmery and warm clean to mid-gain tone. I loved the cleans of my Carr Rambler and I wish that Steve Carr had a Rambler with 6v6's... So what would you suggest? Maybe Victoria, Divided by 13?

I am not a big fan of 6V6 based amp, such as Fender Deluxe Reverb, however, that is until I played FTR37 by %13 amp. It has all those elements that you mentioned and more.

I've got an amp that is literally only a few weeks old that has a wonderful tone with the 6V6 that is very unlike most other 6V6 amps. It's a River City "Little Boy Blues". This amp was ordered with all the options and it can use 6K6 for 8 watts, 6V6 for 12-15 watts and 6L6 for 22 watts. Even though I do love it, I'm thinking that I want an EL84 amp, so I may post it for trade. This is the first 6V6 amp I've tried that didn't sound flubby like so many 6V6 amps do. Just my 2 cents worth.
    Have a great day!

My Slant 6V fit that bill for me. It was temperamental but maybe they've improved the QA issues. Excellent, sweet cleans!

I think now that if I were in the 6V6 market, I'd look at an Allen.

Allen makes a few great 6V6 amps.

That Bogner looks very very sweet... I've previously had an XTC Classic and an Uberschall and I really dig Bogner's tone. I am waiting for the first reviews: enough clean headroom? I don't need extra loud, I will use it mainly for small clubs and studio work but it would be great if it had that sweeeeeeeet and bloomy clean quality of the 6v6's. BTW I would love to try out a used Carr Slant V (I REALLY liked the Rambler) but I live in Greece, Europe-220 volts...:(

I second that! If you want a great shimmery clean that takes pedals well this is the cats meow!

If you want both the cleans and gain tones.......I would go for the divided by thirteen ftr37......

I did it with my Maven Peal RG-88 with a selectable pair of 6V6's and/or KT-66's.

I have the /13 SJT 10-20 combo. 2 6V6's. The cleans are utterly sublime, spanky, shimmery and tasty. It starts growling a little above a normal drummer volume.

Another vote for Tone King - the Gomez G-Reverb is worth a look if you are after low watts and a swampy reverb.

I recently sent my '70 Princeton to Allen amps for the Princeton Tune Up, and I'm very happy with the result--it's very black face, for sure. And it's great for practice and jamming.
