Looking for a Blackface-style amp that isn't made by Fender

Mesa Lonestar or Lonestar Special. Killer clean blackface tones for about 1k. I dont know how much "a fortune" is...its all relative.

For value, its really hard to beat the Hot Rod Deluxe... Yes its fender, but seriously hard to beat fendery cleans and reverb for 400 bucks.

I've seen quite a few of the bigger silverfaces on Craigslist lately for very good prices, even considering they will usually need a trip to the shop. They are made by Fender, but it was kind of a different Fender, considering the ownership changed and most of the employees have probably turned over.

The VVT Fralin is a cool amp. BF preamp mated to a Tweed poweramp with reverb and a 1x15 cab.

Tone Kings kill at blackface tones. Very cool amps. I had a Comet 40a.

There is a Bruno Cowtipper 22 Pro 2 that someone is selling for around 1200-1300 in the emporium I think. Thats as good as it gets tonally.

Well what you are describing to me is Tone King. It has 2 channels with one being blackface and the other being tweed. You have both tones covered. The Meteor II is perfect for that and you get reverb & tremolo. Been dieing to play the new model Metro but can't give my opinion on that since I haven't played it. Can't believe you didn't recommend that one Riff.

Chuck, I was thinking new. The Tone Kings are above his price point new. But used....go for a Meteor II!!
