What it says in the title. Looking for someone good in the OC area to install a new nut and some other things. I'd rather not make the drive to LA. Any recommendations?

I'm real picky who works on my stuff and I love the guys at The Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach.
One of the few remaining Mom&Pop stores out there - good luck with your search.

The Guitar Shoppe in Laguna Beach is always good and fair price. I use them for acoustics. Added feature, they are one block from the ocean.

I also like Grant Guitars in Fountain Valley (above Matrix Sound Studios). Also solid workmanship and fair prices. I use Joel Grant for electrics.

if i were not using people in LA who i like, i would go to joel grant for electric stuff and guitar shoppe for anything really complicated on acoustics.

He worked at World Of Strings in Long Beach for many years and did an awesome refin on my R8, it was a lemon burst prior.

Tom at TR Guitars has been a custom guitar builder for about 30-years, learned the trade with Mark Kendrick, MB at FCS, and still close friends. What does it mean, that's up to you, but TR can schedule to come to my home and do mobile setups....priceless.

Very surprised no one else has chimed in.

This is what awaited him last time.....

    CB Hill! He is awesome

If you ever want to drive to Arcadia, Jerry Bizon is awesome too! CB worked on one of my Suhr's and Jerry on my Epiphone. He turned the Epiphone into a world class guitar. He also has some amazing stories of when he tech'd for Zakk Wylde....

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I've been taking my guitars to the Guitar Shoppe down in laguna but I'm looking for someone else now. CB and TR seem to keep coming up so I'll definately keep them on tye short list.

    Another great luthier!

I used his services a couple of times before I found CB Hill. He was great! I only switched to CB because CB was in Brea 15 minutes from my house. Joel is a good 45-60 minutes away depending on traffic...

CB does great work. The guitar repair in Brea is also good and Rick is a great guy.

CB Hill at CBHillguitars.com. His prices are very are cheap for how good he is. He has made 2 electrics for me. I am going to have him make another in the next few months and one day hopefully an archtop.

Another vote for Tom Rieser at T.R. guitars. He is an honest guy. His price is very reasonable. His van is also at Jim's music in Tustin every Thursday. You can save a few bucks if you bring your guitar there.

You, my friends, know exactly what you are talking about.

    Guitar Shoppe for acoustic
    Grants Guitars for electric
    and let me add
    Kevin Nelson for amps

You will never get screwed by these 3 people and I can guarantee you will get quality work done!

Joel is the most underrated luthier in OC... And UNDER-priced!!!

Whatever you do, don't use Doc... He's a QUACK LOL!!!!

Second Kevin Nelson for amps. I've used him a few times and he is awesome. He installed a killer fx loop (his own design) in my old Marshall. My go to man for amps.
