I've had a BB Preamp for the past few years and it's been ok. But I've never completely bonded with it. So I'm selling it and looking for a new pedal. I'm looking for something that does a good medium to high gain. I'll be running it before my RC Boost, which I love. My style is much more punk than blues so I need a pedal that can give me that. Any recommendations?

Maybe a Catalinbread Super Charged Overdrive (SCOD)? I just sold mine but it was a real kick in the pants. The OCD can also go from medium to heavy pretty easily. Others may include the Barber Small Fry and the Dirty Bomb.

    Bearfoot Model H or HoneyBeest.

I had a BB Preamp too, MB version for a couple years... and like you while I liked it I never fully bonded with it. And after having gone through a KOT, Fetto, Pinnacle, and a Minstrel... I've landed on these Bearfoots as my favorites, along with an Wampler Ecstasy.

If you wants fat mids, go with the Beest. If you want less mids and a more neutral EQ response that's very smooth - Wampler Ecstasy.
If you want less mids but more aggression and classic rock like tone - Model H.

You can check out the OCD 1.4. I don't know how it compares to the BB Preamp, demos on youtube gave me the impression of the OCD sounding a bit thicker.

As well as the OCD you should have a look at the Wampler Plexidrive which has a wide range of gain. The pedals will give you a marshall-like tone with the Plexidrive having more mids than the OCD, I think.

The Keeley Luna Overdrive blew me away, can't say enough good things about it.

Buy the Beest!!! It is slowly takeing over my board, and sounds awesome with all my guitars. I have tried 10 to 20 different od/dist. boxs and this one is killin' them all!!!

you might wanna try a PTD MiniBone or PTD BoneMachine,
and just twiddle the knobs for OD..... killer stuff, imo.
been on my board for quite a while, now.

i also use the fryette SAS (!!!),
and the field effects manifold overdrive.

    NB:
like a lotta folks, i tend to pimp what i love to play.

For Punk you really need the compression to stand out. I'd recommend the Mudhoney II but the pedal tends to be too 'loose' for palm muting. My suggestion would be go for the Seventheaven. Does great medium-high gain and I think you'd prefer it at 9V compared to 18V. If not that then the Crunch Box which is a one trick pony but a good one nonetheless.
